Different Types of Extended Warranties

Extended warranties offer coverage from an auto dealer or manufacturer on the sale of a new or used car. Extended auto warranties also go by the name of Mechanical Breakdown insurance or vehicle service contracts.  Most people acquire extended warranties when they buy new or used vehicles to give themselves extra assurance of discounts in case the vehicle does break down or malfunction in some way.

Simply, an extended warranty is a contract between you and a warranty company also called the Obligor in legalize.  The Obligor can be the dealer or the manufacturer.  The warranty basically outlines the repairs that the Obligor will agree to pair for within a certain amount of time or mileage after you buy the car.  The mileage can really differ from manufacturer to manufacturer or from dealer to dealer so research this matter fully before you purchase the vehicle.
